Why Choose MTSCO Titanium Bar?

Our forging bar, sheet and strip boasts a well-established manufacturing infrastructure and reliable supply capabilities. Covering an area of approximately 6,000 square meters, the plant has a monthly production capacity of up to 250 tons, capable of fulfilling both routine orders and periodic bulk delivery requirements. In terms of material production, the plant employs a dual VIM + ESR melting process, which helps reduce gas content, optimize material microstructure, and enhance material purity and overall performance. Additionally, the facility strictly uses high-purity raw materials for smelting to minimize the impact of impurities from scrap, ensuring product quality from the source. Regarding order fulfillment, the facility accepts orders starting from 150 kg and maintains a stock of over 30 common alloy grades, enabling us to better meet the needs of R&D, small-batch production, and urgent projects. Overall, we combine robust manufacturing capabilities with delivery flexibility and consistent material quality.

Quality Control of the Titanium Bar:

In terms of quality control, MTSCO factory is equipped with a comprehensive range of testing equipment and laboratory capabilities, enabling multi-dimensional inspections of bar, plate, strip, and forged products. Current testing equipment includes portable ultrasonic flaw detectors, direct-reading spectrometers, infrared carbon-sulfur analyzers, hardness testers, electronic balances, vernier calipers, and surface roughness test blocks, covering key processes such as chemical composition analysis, internal defect detection, hardness testing, dimensional inspection, and surface quality verification.
The plant also emphasizes comprehensive laboratory testing to ensure products comply with relevant ASTM and ASME standards and has obtained ISO and PED certifications. This demonstrates that the plant not only possesses the capability to test raw materials and finished products but has also established a comprehensive quality assurance system, providing customers with more consistent and traceable product quality support.

Titanium Grade 2 (UNS R50400) is one of the most widely used grades of industrial-grade titanium, offering excellent corrosion resistance, good formability, and stable overall mechanical properties. Compared to Grade 1, Grade 2 offers higher strength while maintaining good ductility and weldability, making it more commonly used in the manufacture of industrial equipment. This material exhibits excellent corrosion resistance against seawater, chlorides, moist chlorine gas, oxidizing acids, and various chemical media, enabling long-term, stable operation under complex operating conditions.
Titanium Gr.2 also features low density and high specific strength, allowing for reduced equipment weight while ensuring structural reliability. It is suitable for cold working, welding, bending, and deep drawing processes.

FAQ
1. In which industries is Titanium Grade 2 forged bar typically used?

Titanium Grade 2 forged bars are widely used in industries such as chemical processing, desalination, marine engineering, shipbuilding, power generation, and environmental protection equipment. Due to their excellent corrosion resistance against seawater, chloride ions, and oxidizing media, they are often machined into critical industrial components such as flanges, valve parts, pump shafts, connectors, heat exchanger structural components, and fasteners.

2. Does MTSCO support custom dimensions and small-batch purchases for Titanium Bar?

Yes. MTSCO can provide custom diameters, lengths, and surface treatment services according to customer requirements. The factory’s minimum order quantity can be as low as 150 kg, and we maintain a long-term inventory of various commonly used titanium alloy grades to meet the needs of R&D projects, small-batch prototyping, and urgent delivery schedules.

3. What inspections are performed on Titanium Grade 2 Forged Bars before shipment?

All Titanium Bars undergo multiple inspections prior to shipment, including PMI material identification, dimensional inspection, visual inspection, hardness testing, mechanical property testing, and ultrasonic testing (UT). The factory is equipped with direct-reading spectrometers, ultrasonic flaw detectors, and comprehensive laboratory equipment to ensure products comply with ASTM B348 and customer technical specifications.

4. Why choose forged titanium bars over standard rolled titanium bars?
Compared to standard rolled bars, forged titanium bars feature a denser internal structure and more stable mechanical properties, offering higher reliability in applications involving pressure, stress, and critical structural components. They are better suited for manufacturing industrial parts that demand high material stability and long-term service performance, such as pump shafts, flange blanks, valve stems, and high-strength fasteners.
