UNS S32205 is a duplex stainless steel widely used in industrial piping systems and belongs to the 2205 series. Its metallographic structure consists of approximately 50% ferrite and 50% austenite, which gives the material excellent mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. Compared with traditional austenitic stainless steels (such as 304L, 316L), S32205 performs better in resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion, and is very suitable for applications with extremely high corrosion requirements such as marine environments, chemical equipment, and oil and gas processing systems.

Flanges made of UNS S32205 not only have excellent corrosion resistance, but also have higher yield strength (almost twice that of 304/316 stainless steel), so while ensuring connection strength, a lighter design can be achieved to reduce the overall system weight.
